Insidious, invisible and terribly deadly, suicide bomb attacks are feared by security forces throughout the world.
A constant threat that may strike at any time, in any place -- unless detected in time. This is the aim of the STANDEX programme, developed in close cooperation between NATO and Russia. A major technical advance in combating terrorism, which could, in the years ahead, enable security forces to identify suicide bombers in a crowd.
